The Giles For Matches launch – all treats, no tricks
By Emily Fleuriot, 31.10.12
Halloween 2013: misty rainfall and a waning moon provided the perfect backdrop for the launch of the exclusive Giles For Matches collection, hosted by Tom and Ruth Chapman. Candle-lit pumpkins welcomed guests as they arrived at the Matches No.23 Welbeck Street London townhouse, while inside, ghoulish waiters served pumpkin-hued Halloween cocktails and guest of honour Giles showed off an impressive, slightly gory slashed-face wound. While his facial prosthetics may have tricked some, the real treat of the night was his exclusive 16-piece collection…
Well-heeled trick-or-treaters cooed over our sneak-peek of Giles’ limited-edition capsule collection in what had to be London’s most chic house of horror, created by art director Benedict Lack. And what can we reveal? Highly illustrative and sugar-hued, the ready-to-wear pieces of perfection, covetable accessories, maribou-haired dollies and snap-em-up stationery, plates and pencils are to-sigh-for. While the jury’s out as to whether Giles’ Halloween face wound will catch on, there’s no doubt his exclusive to Matches collection, with its signature print, is one for the wish list…
Don’t miss out! Giles For Matches is available at MatchesFashion.com from November 13. Register now to be the first to know when the collection arrives.
